Second phase of east Damascus offensive set to begin

The second phase of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) east Damascus offensive is set to begin in the coming days, a military source in the Syrian capital told Al-Masdar yesterday.

Led by the 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army is preparing to storm the western axis of Jobar, which has long been under the control of Islamist rebels.

Meanwhile, southeast of Jobar, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard is preparing to launch another powerful assault inside the ‘Ayn Tarma Triangle.

The main objective in the objective of the assault in ‘Ayn Tarma will be to cutoff Faylaq Al-Rahman’s ability to use the highway that flows through this imperative suburb in east Damscus.
