Six Syrian-Belarusian agreements inked on trade exchange, education, housing, transport, industry and customs
Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Hussein Arnous held talks Wednesday with his Belarusian Counterpart Roman Golovchenko and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting, held in the cabinet building, highlighted mutual keenness between both sides to advance prospects of cooperation in new areas, in light of the regional and international status quo. In addition to addressing challenges encountered by both countries, such as terrorism and unilateral coercive measures.
During the meeting, the two sides inked six agreements and memoranda of understanding on trade exchange, education, housing, transport, industry and customs.
Prime Minister Arnous asserted in his speech that the Belarusian delegation visit to Syria turned out to be a significant move towards upgrading bilateral cooperation under the directions of presidents of both countries Bashar al-Assad and Alexander Lukashenko.
Arnous added that relations of two countries are based on common values and mutual respect for the right of peoples and nations to permanent sovereignty over their natural wealth and resources as well as non-interference in the internal affairs of States.
Premier Arnous pointed out to the real opportunities to cement cooperation in different fields of trade, barter, education and transport, affirming that the Syrian government encourages Belarusian companies and facilitates investments contributing to the country reconstruction.
The Prime Minister Golovchenko, for his part, hailed the deeply rooted relations binding the two countries, affirming that Syria is a strategic partner to Belarus.
“Not only Belarus supports Syria in countering terrorism, but it is also keen on developing bilateral cooperation, mainly in the economic, financial, and trade exchange fields,’ he added.
In a press statement following the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding, Arnous said that we have close and historic relations with Belarus that based on mutual respect, values, and keenness on joint action.
He added that the joint cooperation between the two friendly countries are witnessing increasing development , and that the current challenges require more coordination in the interest of the two friendly peoples.
For his part , Golovchenko said that we took the first steps to empower bilateral relations, and that the two countries are on the right path, and work will be done to overcome all difficulties, calling on the international community to stand by Syria to overcome sanctions, combat terrorism and preserve national sovereignty.
