A suspected member of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group has been arrested in the western German town of Dinslaken.

According to a statement issued by German federal prosecutor’s office late Saturday, Nile D. was arrested following the police raid on his apartment in Dinslaken.

The 24-year-old suspect had traveled to Syria in October 2013 to join Takfiri terrorists fighting against the government in Damascus, the statement added.

The suspect reportedly returned to Germany in November 2014.

German prosecutors said his arrest was not related to recent terrorist attacks in the French capital, Paris, which left at least 17 people and three gunmen dead.

This is while a local prosecutor in the western city of Duesseldorf had launched an investigation into Nile’s case over his terrorist activities in early 2014. However, federal prosecutors dismissed the case at the time, saying there was no concrete evidence for the allegations.

The ISIL terrorist group, with members from several Western countries, controls swathes of land in Iraq and Syria.

The group has been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.

In recent weeks, Iraqi and Syrian forces have achieved decisive victories against the Takfiri terrorists operating in the Arab countries.
