Syria: Army, Terrorists Battling over Oil Field in Homs Province
The Syrian army and the terrorist groups are engaged in heavy clashes in the surrounding areas of Oil Well No/105/ in Homs province, FNA dispatches said.
The terrorist groups are trying to take back the oil wells that they have recently lost to the Syrian army.
Oil Well No 105 is the biggest and most important oil well of Homs province.
On Saturday, the Syrian army gained the upper-hand in Homs province, and won control over five gas and oil fields after inflicting heavy casualties on the militants.
The army units regained control over Jazal town in Homs countryside and took back control of five gas and oil fields from the ISIL terrorists in heavy clashes.
A least 60 terrorists were killed in Saturday clashes with terrorists in Homs province.
Last Tuesday, the Syrian army backed by popular forces established full control over Gas Well No /101/ at Palmyra countryside in Homs province.
Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.
Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.
The Takfiri terrorist group, with members from several western countries, controls swathes of land in Syria and Iraq, and has been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.
