Syria army troops inflict heavy blows on militants
The foreign-sponsored militants operating in Syria have suffered major losses as Syrian Army troops continue to gain more ground in their fight against the armed groups in Syria.
On Sunday, Syrian army units destroyed two cars laden with various kinds of munitions and killed a group of militants on the road linking the Hosh al-Abbasiya district on the outskirts of the capital, Damascus, to Khan al-Sheeh area.
In the western city of Homs, located 162 kilometers (101 miles) north of Damascus, government forces destroyed four cars equipped with heavy machine guns, killing and injuring a number of terrorists.
Syrian government forces also confronted a group of militants who were attempting to infiltrate into the town of Maksar al-Hisan in Homs Province. A number of the militants were killed and wounded during the heavy exchange of fire.
Terrorist hideouts were raided by Syrian forces in the city of al-Rastan, located 25 kilometers (16 miles) north of Homs. Several militants were killed and wounded during the operations.
Meanwhile, intense clashes erupted between the Syrian troops and militants in the Um Batinah district of the southwestern province of Quneitra on Sunday. The Syrian army killed and injured a number of terrorists during the clashes.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011, with ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently controlling parts of it mostly in the east.
The Western powers and their regional allies – especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey – are reportedly supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
