Syria: De Mistura’s Statement Far from Objectivity, Facts
Syria accused UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura of being bias, noting that the latest statement published by the international envoy was far from facts.
An official source at the Syrian foreign ministry said de Mistura lack neutrality as he made statements that are “far from objectivity and facts” and are based on what is being promoted by circles known for their hostility towards Syria, official news agency, SANA, reported.
“We hoped that the UN envoy would have condemned the shelling carried out by the armed terrorist organizations on the cities of Aleppo, Lattakia and Daraa,” the agency quoted the Syrian official as saying in statement.
He also also slammed the envoy for not condemning the terrorists’ cutting off of water and electricity in Aleppo City for many weeks or the massacres committed by Takfiri terrorists.
In a statement Monday, de Mistura condemned the Syrian government air raids in the eastern Damascus suburb of Douma, which is a stronghold for Takfiri terrorist group “Jaish al-Islam”.
