Syria denounces atrocious Israeli attack on Palmyra, stresses it reflects ongoing Zionist crimes in region

Damascus / SANA- Syria condemned in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli attack on the city of Palmyra, stressing that it reflects the nonstop Zionist crimes against the countries of the region and their peoples.

“The Zionist entity committed a horrific crime in Palmyra today, which claimed the lives of 36 citizens and injured dozens of others in the air aggression carried out by Israeli aircraft, targeting a number of residential buildings and causing material damage to the buildings and surrounding area.” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Wednesday.

Syria stresses that this entity’s crimes committed in Syria, Lebanon and Palestine pose a real threat to the security and stability of the region, and that the Security Council’s dependence on the decision of one state makes this council lose its credibility in maintaining international peace and security” the statement added.

“Syria calls on all countries of the world to take a firm stance to stop the atrocious massacres committed by the occupying entity in the region and hold its leaders accountable for their crimes and aggression and ensure that they do not escape punishment.” the Ministry concluded.
