Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Destroys Takfiri Terrorists’ Hideout in Idlib Countryside
The Syrian air force destroyed the gathering centers and hideouts of the Takfiri terrorists in the countryside of Idlib.
The Syrian warplanes hit the concentration centers of Jeish al-Fath in Khashir, Um Jrein, Tal Salmo, al-Majas and Abu al-Dhuhor in Idlib.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more injured in fierce clashes with the Takfiri terrorists.
The Jeish al-Fath terrorist group admitted that a large number of its members were killed.
Notorious terrorists such Amir al-Abdallah, the leader of “Sham Legion”, Abdullah Hassan al-Abbas, Mousa al-Haji, Ahmad Saado al- Abdullah and Mohamed Abu Hussein were among those militants killed in Idlib.
Also in the past 24 hours, military sources said that the Syrian Army and the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement, in their mop-up operations in Zabadani, uncovered one of the largest supply tunnels of rebel groups in Zabadani area.
The sources said that the Syrian Army’s 63rd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – uncovered one of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham’s large supply tunnels that stretched from the Beit Al-Dalati neighborhood to the outskirts of Southern Zabadani.
The large tunnel unearthed by the Syrian army and Hezbollah was used by Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham militants to resupply and reinforce their embattled combatants that were completely surrounded by the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance near Zabadani’s city-center.
Following the discovery of this tunnel, the Syrian armed forces and the Lebanese Resistance continued their advance inside Zabadani, capturing the Beit Al-Dalati Neighborhood after intense clashes with the rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) “Zabadani Hawks Brigade” and al-Nusra Front.
In addition to the capture of the Beit Al-Dalati Neighborhood, the Syrian armed forces and Hezbollah advanced to the Dawar Al-Salwaan Neighborhood, where they confronted a large contingent of Nusra Front and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham combatants in the way to their march towards Zabadani’s downtown area.
Assisting their comrades from the air, the Syrian Air Force conducted over 40 airstrikes above Zabadani and Madaya, targeting a number of hideouts of rebels.
Elsewhere, the Syrian army troops killed all members of a terrorist group in Daraa province.
The troops killed all members of a terrorist group in al-Hammadin neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad, and destroyed positions of terrorists of al-Nusra Front at Syriatel vicinity and North of al-Bajabejeh quarter.
A large group of terrorists were also killed and injured in a military operation to the East of Rajm al-Mashor in the Eastern countryside of Daraa.
Meantime, the Syrian army continued mop-up operations against the foreign-backed Takfiri militants in the Southern province of Quneitra, and inflicted a heavy casualty on the terrorists.
The army, backed by the popular defense groups, clashed on Saturday night with terrorist groups, which tried to infiltrate from the villages of al-Hamidiyeh, al- Hurriyeh and Ovania into Tal al-Qaba’a and Khan Arnabeh town in the countryside of Quneitra, sources said Sunday.
A group of terrorists were killed and injured in the clashes.
Elsewhere, the Syrian ground force and choppers defended government positions in al-Jubeileh and al-Sina districts in Deir Ezzur East of Syria, killing at least 33 ISIL militants and wounding several others, sources said.
The sources said that the ISIL terrorists began their assault at the al-Jubeileh district, when one of the combatants drove his vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) into the al-Fardous Mosque, which resulted in the complete destruction of the building, along with the death of a dozen civilians.
