Syria in Last 24 Hours: Takfiri Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Army Offensive in Hama Province

The Takfiri terrorists sustained heavy losses and casualties in heavy clashes with the army and popular forces in Hama province.

The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist groups in other key province across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian military forces, in a fresh round of anti-terrorism missions, stormed the gatherings of al-Nusra Front and Jund al-Aqsa in the Northern part of Hama province, provincial sources said, adding that at least 20 terrorists were killed in the offensives.

“The Syrian soldiers’ assaults on concentration centers of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front and Jund al-Aqsa near the small town of Ma’an and the village of Atshan ended in the killing or 20 terrorists and wounding of many more,” the sources said, adding, “Two mortars and two vehicles equipped with machinegun and rocket-launcher were also destroyed in the army attacks.”

Reports said earlier on Sunday that the Syrian military forces, in a strong defense, repelled the massive assaults of Jund al-Aqsa terrorist on the government forces’ positions North of Hama province from two directions, and forced them to retreat from the battlefield.

Jund al-Aqsa terrorists’ attempts to break through the government forces’ positions near the town of Ma’an were fended off by the Syrian army and popular forces.

At least 15 members of Jund al-Aqsa were killed and many more were wounded in the unsuccessful offensives.

The terrorist stormed the army strongholds from two directions of Morek and Atshan.

Jund al-Aqsa’s military equipment sustain major damage in the failed attacks.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops and National Defense Forces, after hours of non-stop battle, pushed the ISIL back from more heights and lands in the Northwestern and Eastern countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur), military sources said.

“The ISIL left behind scores of the dead and wounded members and pulled the remaining pockets of its forces back from the two strategic mountains of Antar and Zalfeh in the Northwestern side of Palmyra and vast farms in the Eastern side of the ancient city under the heavy offensives of the Syrian army and the popular forces,” the sources said.

“The pro-government forces are now fortifying their positions across the newly-liberated heights and lands,” they further added.

Lattakia

The Syrian Army and National Defense Forces repelled an attack of the al-Nusra Front on their strongholds in the Northeastern part of Lattakia province, inflicting a heavy death toll on the terrorists.

A 150-member group of al-Nusra terrorists stormed the Syrian government forces’ positions near Kinsibba, but their attacks were repelled by the Syrian soldiers and popular forces.

Under the heavy fire of pro-government forces, al-Nusra fled the battlefield leaving behind at least 25 dead members and many more wounded ones.

Aleppo

Several Takfiri terrorists, including non-Syrians, were killed in the Syrian warplane’s bombardments in parts of two militant-held districts in the Northern city of Aleppo.

The Syrian fighter jets’ combat flights over the terrorist groups’ position in Bani Zeid and Sakhour in Aleppo claimed the lives of several militant, including foreign nationals from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Morocco.

The terrorists’ military hardware also sustained major damage in the air attacks.

The Russian fighter jets carried out several combat flights over al-Nusra Front’s fortified defense facilities in two strategic regions Southeast of Aleppo province, inflicting major casualties on the terrorists.

The Russian warplanes struck strongholds of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front heavily near the towns of al-Zerbeh and al-Eis, which ended in the killing or wounding of tens of the terrorists.

The Takfiri terrorists’ military equipment and vehicles sustained major damage in the airstrikes.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops and its popular allies, who launched a fresh round of join anti-terrorism operation in Eastern Ghouta, have engaged in a tough battle with the terrorists and are close to capture the entire al-Ruqabiyeh in the coming hours, sources said.

“The Syrian soldier, Hezbollah, the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) are now in control of 80 percent of the village of al-Ruqabiyeh and only have a small portion left to push Jeish al-Islam terrorists back from the entire village,” the sources said.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian fighter jets, in a fresh round of combat sorties, targeted the gatherings and command centers of the ISIL in different parts of the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur, pinning the terrorists down behind their positions.

The Syrian Army’s aircraft stuck the ISIL headquarters in the Northwestern side of al-Jalaliyeh, which ended in destruction of one of the most imports centers of the Takfiri terrorists in the region and the killing or wounding of several militants.

The ISIL gatherings in al-Hosseiniyeh district also were heavily bombed by the Syrian air fleet.
