Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Air Raids in Homs Provinces
The Syrian fighter jets killed and wounded scores of terrorists in the Eastern territories of Homs province.
The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist groups in other key regions across Syria.
Homs
The Syrian Air Force carried out heavy attacks on ISIL’s movements Northeast of T4 airbase, killing and wounding tens of militants and destroying their construction machinery.
The ISIL suffered a heavy death toll and its construction machinery, including a bulldozer, sustained major damage in the Syrian fighter jets’ raid in Eastern Homs.
In the meantime, the Syrian Army troops stormed the gatherings and movements of ISIL to the Southwest of the ancient city of Tadmur (Palmyra), killing a number of terrorists, injuring many others and destroying a number of their vehicles.
Hama
Syrian warplanes carried out several combat sorties over ISIL and Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) in the Eastern and Northern territories of Homs province, killing and wounding a number of militants and destroying their equipment.
The ISIL suffered a number of casualties and its equipment sustained major damage in the air force raids on their positions in the town of Aqayrabat in Eastern Homs, while other Syrian fighter jets targeted Fatah al-Sham’s concentration centers in the town of Taybat al-Imam.
Damascus
Syrian Army has forwarded a brigade of its elite forces to Wadi al-Bardi region to reinvigorate its troops’ combat abilities in Western Ghouta, military sources said Friday.
The sources disclosed that the army’s elite 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division has been dispatched to the Wadi al-Bardi region.
The 42nd Brigade has been involved in several important battles in the past, including the capture of Yabroud in the Qalamoun Mountains, Darayya, and Khan al-Sheih.
The 42nd Brigade is under the direct command of General Maher Al-Assad and his officers.
The 42nd Brigade will be leading the charge to expel the remaining rebels from the Wadi al-Bardi.
Also the residents of Kafr al-Awamid town in Wadi al-Bardi region, Western Ghouta of Damascus, could drive out the al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) terrorists on Thursday as the army intensified its attacks against the militants.
The people in Kafr al-Awamid contacted the Syrian army officers and called on them not to attack their town, while conducting operations against al-Nusra Front in the region.
Meantime, another group of civilians from Wadi al-Bardi were transferred to al-Rozah village as the army continued its operations against al-Nusra terrorists in Western Ghouta of Damascus and advanced in more areas.
Also, field sources said that differences between the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA) and al-Nusra Front heightened on how to confront the Syrian army and the efficiency of the militants’ attacks.
Aleppo
Forces of the Euphrates Shield Operation continued to hit ISIL’s positions in Northern Aleppo, killing 32 ISIL members and wounding several more.
ISIL suffered 32 casualties in the Turkish forces’ attacks on its positions in the Northern territories of Syria.
In the meantime, the forces of the Euphrates Shield hit 21 positions of ISIL in the town of al-Bab.
The General Staff of the Turkish army said on Tuesday that the country’s army continued to target ISIL’s positions in Northern Aleppo, killing at least 18 militants and destroying 150 targets in the Euphrates Shield Operation.
Raqqa
The predominately Kurdish ‘Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) continued their attacks on ISIL’s defense lines in regions West of ISIL’s self-proclaimed capital city of Raqqa, taking control over one more strategic position.
The Kurdish fighters pushed ISIL back from Ja’abar citadel in the Southern direction of the villages of Ja’abar al-Sharqi and Ja’abar al-Qarbi, killing a number of terrorists after hours of non-stop battle.
Also, the SDF continued to hit ISIL’s positions West of Ein Issa town on Wednesday, driving the terrorist group back from five more villages in the region.
The SDF advanced against ISIL near Tal al-Saman West of Ein Issa and drove ISIL out of the villages of Shali, Dahlan, Ariv and Arbu after hours of non-stop clashes and killing tens of militants.
The Kurdish fighters also advanced against ISIL near the villages of Qaderiyeh and Kardoshan and captured the village of Hanhoud in the Northern side of these two villages.
Deir Ezzur
Syrian Army troops warded off ISIL’s attacks on seven key government portions in the city of Deir Ezzur and on another point South of the city, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
ISIL attacked the army’s strongholds in Deir Ezzur airport in the Southern direction of the city and also in the districts of al-Jabiliya, al-Roshdiyeh, al-Huweiqa, Al-Sina’ah, al-Rasafa, al-Baqaliyeh and Tal (hill) Brouk.
The Syrian army sent a large number of reserve troops to the frontlines in order to confront the terrorist group’s offensives.
The army men fended off the terrorist offensives, killing and wounding several terrorists in the process.
The Syrian army launched heavy ground and air strikes against the ISIL terrorists in Deir Ezzur, smashing their command centers and hideouts.
