Syria, Iran discuss technical plans, possibility of signing memo of understanding
Minister of Labor Hassan Hijazi discussed with Iranian Minister for Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Dr. Ali Rabie technical plans on for accommodating the workforce that enters the job market every year, and training it, in addition to social insurance systems.
During the meeting which was held on the sidelines of the International Labor Conference in Geneva on Wednesday, Hijazi said showed the study prepared by the Ministry on the workforce and its development in Syria in light of the current situation.
He pointed out that the Ministry is concentrating on training and technical rehabilitation in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works, particularly since the upcoming stage in Syria needs high technical skills.
For his part, Rabie stressed the importance of signing a memorandum of understanding between the two Ministries to exchange experiences.
In another context, the Syrian Minister, while meeting the Head of the International Standards Department at the International Work Organization, affirmed Syria’s commitment to applying the international work agreements.
