Syria: Popular Uprising against ISIL Reported in Southern Damascus
Residents of Yalda, Bebeila and Beit Saham settlements in Southern Damascus poured into the streets on Friday, and urged implementation of the peace plan and expulsion of terrorists from their regions.
In the meantime, a Russian delegation entered regions under the control of the Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in al-Rijeh square, warning them that they need to endorse peace or retreat to Northern Syria if they do not want war with the Syrian army.
Meantime, field sources reported that a large number of the Syrian army forces have deployed near the Palestinian Refugees Yarmouk Camp, adding that the army is preparing for a large-scale operation against ISIL.
The sources further said that the army operation seems to be the only way to end ISIL’s presence in Southern Damascus.
Military sources said on Wednesday that the army forwarded a large number of its soldiers and a large volume of equipment from Jobar region in Eastern Ghouta to the contact lines with ISIL to purge Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood and parts of Yarmouk Refugee Camp and al-Tazamon region of the remaining pockets of the ISIL terrorists.
In the meantime, peace talks are underway between the army and militants deployed in the towns of Yalda, Beit Saham and Bebeila in the Southern countryside of Damascus city.
