Syria: Terrorists Shell Christian Town in Idlib Province
A terrorist group launched missile attack on residential and industrial areas in the Christian town of Mahardah in Idlib province, local sources reported on Saturday.
The sources said that terrorists, deployed in Northern Hama, fired five missiles at residential areas in the Christian town of Mahardah and its power plant.
The absurd attack left no casualties with only minor material damage reported, they added.
The rocket assault might – most probably – have spurred by vengeance for Ghouta offensive.
In response, the Syrian Army’s missile and artillery units shelled terrorists’ positions in the nearby villages of Latamina, Kafr Zita, al-Sakher and al-Zakat; all serve as bastions for Jeish al-Izzah terrorists affiliated to the Free Syrian Army.
The aggression on Mahardah might as well propel the Russian jets to conduct retaliatory airstrikes against the attackers.
Field sources reported on Wednesday that the Russian Air Force carried out several rounds of combat flights over the positions of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in Southern Idlib, destroying terrorists’ bases.
The Russian jets flying out of the Humeimim Airbase in Southwestern Lattakia carried out several raids, striking Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at’s positions in the Southern part of Idlib province.
In particular, the warplanes bombed a main base of Tahrir al-Sham located inside the Southern Idlib town of al-Naqir, which is located just a few kilometers North of the Syrian army’s frontlines.
