Syrian Arab Army Liberates 9 Areas Near Al-Qamishli

Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Brigade (Special Forces: Al-Qawat Al-Khassa) – in cooperation with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – has liberated nine villages and farms in the Al-Qamishli District of the Al-Hasakah Governorate on Saturday.

According to a military source in Al-Hasakah, the following villages and farms were declared under Syrian Government control on Saturday: Al-Sabhat, Al-Saalahiyeh, Khaweetlat Houran, Misheerfat Al-Kabeera, Rahiyat Al-Sawdat, Al-Ghanamiyah, Al-Khinissa’, Al-Hadaadiyah, and Mazra’a Sheikh ‘Abeed.

With the loss of Tal Brak and Tal Hamees to the Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” south of Al-Qamishli, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has faced a disintegration of their frontline defenses in east Al-Hasakah.

The SAA has now shifted its attention to the southern part of the province, as they attempt to cutoff ISIS militants from the main road to Deir Ezzo via the Al-Hasakah Governorate.
