Syrian Army Enters Busra Al-Hareer in Northeast Dara’a
Approximately 36 hours after launching their offensive in northeast Dara’a, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) – have entered the strategic town of Busra Al-Hareer.
The SAA’s 5th Division and their allies broke-through the frontline defenses of Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham after storming the western axis of Busra Al-Hareer for the second time on Tuesday; this has built a buffer for the SAA contingent operating in the northern sector of the town.
Clashes are still ongoing between the SAA’s 5th Division and Harakat Al-Sham at Busra Al-Hareer; however, much of the fighting dissipated by the time nightfall descended upon this town in the Al-Lajat area of Dara’a and As-Sweida.
According to a military source in Dara’a, the Syrian Armed Forces have killed 37 enemy combatants from Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham in the last 24 hours – the source further added that the Syrian Armed Forces have confirmed the death of 39 soldiers (11 soldiers in the last 24 hours) since the inception of this offensive.
At nearby Al-Rikmat, the SAA’s 5th Division carried out a number of raids on the positions of the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra,” destroying two armored vehicles mounted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns, while also killing 13 militants inside this village in the Al-Lajat area of Dara’a.
The 5th Division did not stop there, they continued their attack on Milayhat Al-‘Atash, where they confronted a large contingent from Jabhat Al-Nusra, killing 9 enemy combatants and seizing a small cache of rockets in the northern part of the village.
Fighting has also been reported at the villages of Qarfa, Sinameen, Dilli, ‘Ibta’, Inkhil, Al-Kirak, ‘Itmann, Ghazali, Dara’a Al-Balad, and Kafr Nissaj.
