Syrian Army, Hezbollah attempt to enter new East Ghouta district
The Syrian Arab Army’s 416th Regiment of the Republican Guard – backed by Hezbollah and the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) – carried out a special operation in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus on Saturday night that targeted the jihadist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) at the villages Al-Bahariyah and Al-Nashabiyah.
According to a field correspondent in the East Ghouta, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah attacked the jihadist rebels at the eastern axis of Al-Bahariyah, killing 9 members of Jabhat Al-Nusra before advancing further west towards the village center.
The field correspondent added that the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah also carried out a powerful attack Al-Nashabiyah, where they once again tried to isolate the jihadist controlled town of Al-Salihiyah from the Jabhat Al-Nusra militants. This latest attack by the government forces is geared to enter District 7 of the East Ghouta, which has long been under the control of the jihadist rebels.
