Syrian Army in Cooperation with Hezbollah Captures Strategic Area in Southwest Syria

The Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with contingents from the National Defense Forces and Hezbollah has captured the strategic Al-Mahaadhiyyeh Orchards located near the imperative villages of Sa’sa and Hassnou on the border of the Al-Quneitra and Rif Dimashq Governorates in southwest Syria.
The SAA attack on Al-Mahadhiyyeh Orchards was conducted around 7 A.M. on Wednesday morning and lasted for almost 8 hours before the militants from the Al-Nusra Front (Jabhat Al-Nusra) withdrew from their positions in this rural area. According to a military source, at least 15 militants from the Al-Nusra Front were killed during this operation, including ‘Ammar Mohammad Al-‘Ismaa’eel, “Abu Baraa’ Al-Jazrawi” (Saudi), Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Sinawi, and ‘Abdel-Lateef ‘Ali Al-Khaled.
The success at Al-Mahadhiyyeh has led to the SAA’s advance towards the imperative village of Sa’sa; if captured, could lead to the counter-offensive in the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
