Syrian Army kills 30 Al-Nusra Front Terrorists in northeast Dara’a
The Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with the National Defense Forces and Hezbollah Forces is on the move near the vital city of Al-Lajaat in northeast Dara’a, as they conduct numerous clean-up operations on the border of the As-Sweida Governorate in order to clear a path to this terrorist-held area.
On early Saturday morning, the loyalist forces surprised the Al-Qaeda linked “Al-Nusra Front” (Jabhat Al-Nusra) and contingents loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) with a ferocious assault that netted over 30 confirmed terrorists in the matter of 45 minutes. This attack forced the Al-Nusra Front and ISIS loyalists to retreat west and regroup before they could break the brief siege of Al-Lajaat.
In the vicinity of Al-Lajaat, contingents from the NDF and SAA carried out an attack on Al-Nusra Front militants at the village of Tal Shaheeb, resulting in the death of 9 enemy combatants, including their leader “Abu Moussa Al-Masri” (Egyptian). Fierce clashes are still ongoing at this area located east of the Khalkhalat Airport in the As-Sweida Governorate.
Ongoing clashes were reported between the SAA and Al-Nusra Front on the road leading to the Dara’a Governorate village of Jimreen from the province of As-Sweida. No further details were given.
