The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their wide-scale offensive in the key town of Darayya on Sunday, capturing new points from the Islamist rebels of Ajnad Al-Sham in the Association Quarter.

An officer told Al-Masdar on Sunday night that the Syrian Republican Guard managed to capture a large chunk of the town’s southwestern sector, creating an even bigger buffer-zone between Darayya and nearby Mu’adhimiyah.

The military source also told Al-Masdar that the Syrian Arab Army has sustained minimal casualties (3 KIA) in Darayya this past week, while Ajnad Al-Sham has lost over 15 militants.

With limited provisions and no supply route to the town, the Islamist rebels of Ajnad Al-Sham are on the verge of complete collapse in Darayya.

The Syrian Army is picking apart the Islamist defenses in the town, seizing several of the decrepit buildings that were once used by Ajnad Al-Sham to forestall the government advance.
