Syrian army raises flag of Syria over Dumayr

For the first time in several years, the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic flies over the town of Dumayr in the eastern Qalamoun region of Damascus.

The Syrian military police were able to raise the flag, tonight, following the departure of Jaysh Al-Islam militants from Dumayr to the northern Aleppo town of Jarabulus.

Despite some rumors from social media activists that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) had entered Dumayr, they do not actually have any presence inside the town, nor will they in the immediate future.

Similar to the Douma deal, the Syrian Army will allow reconciled rebels to patrol Dumayr alongside Syrian and Russian military police.

The Syrian and Russian military police are now attempting to convince the remaining rebels in the eastern Qalamoun region to accept the same deal as Jaysh Al-Islam in Dumayr.
