Syrian Army Rescues Abducted Civilians, Military Men in Reqqa
The Syrian army conducted a series of operations in Al-Reqqa province in the Northeastern parts of the country, and rescued tens of civilians and military men taken hostage by terrorist groups in there.
The army units freed a total of 42 Syrians in Al-Tabaqeh region in Al-Reqqa on Monday morning.
The released people, including civilians and military personnel, had been abducted by the foreign-backed militants on separate occasions.
Several Syrian army officers were also among the released people.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against both the army and civilians.
Tens of thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes.
