Syrian Army seizes key district in east Aleppo
Syrian Armed Forces broke-through Harakat Nouriddeen’s front-line defenses at Al-Oweija in east Aleppo, seizing the entire district after a 72 hour long battle.
Led by the 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), the Syrian Armed Forces launched another powerful attack at the western axis of Al-Oweija today; this resulted in a fierce battle that lasted for most of the morning.
According to a military source, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to seize the district around 12:45 P.M. today, forcing the remaining Islamist rebels to withdraw to the east in order to avoid being overrun.
In addition to the capture of Al-Oweija, the Syrian Armed Forces seized the strategic Al-Jandoul Roundabout after a short battle with the Fatah Halab militants today.
The Syrian Armed Forces are also quickly advancing inside Bustan Al-Basha; this comes just 48 hours after they seized 40 percent of the district from Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki.
