Syrian Army successfully regained control of certain regions in Hama previously held by terrorist groups
The Syrian Army has successfully regained control of several territories in the northern and northwestern regions of Hama, previously held by terrorist groups.
According to reports from Al Mayadeen, the Syrian Army successfully regained control over Zayn al-Abidin Mountain, the 87th Special Forces Brigade, and Hama Military Airport late on Thursday.
According to the report, significant success was attained despite terrorist groups previously asserting that they had taken full control of those regions.
In a subsequent development, Syrian Defense Minister Ali Abbas urged the citizens of Syria on Thursday evening to remain “patient and steadfast,” assuring them that the military is committed to exerting its full efforts to reclaim the territories currently under occupation.
Since the early hours of Wednesday, terrorist factions, reportedly backed by specific states and foreign nations, initiated large-scale assaults on Syrian military installations located in the southwest, northwest, and west of Aleppo.
The recent terrorist activity represents a breach of the 2020 de-escalation agreement in Syria, marking a significant disruption in the ongoing efforts to reduce conflict in the region.
In accordance with a 2017 agreement brokered by Iran, Russia, and Turkey as guarantors of the Astana peace talks, four designated safe zones were established within Syria.
