Syrian Army unleashes heavy assault in east Damascus

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed a heavy assault over the eastern suburbs of Damascus, tonight, targeting the Islamist rebel positions inside Harasta and ‘Arbeen.

Led by their 4th Division, the Syrian Arab Army fired several surface-to-surface missiles towards the defenses of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Rahman in Harasta and ‘Arbeen, scoring several direct hits on their positions.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Army’s powerful missile strikes tonight come just hours after several units from the 4th Division arrived from the Hama Governorate.

The field correspondent added that the Syrian Army is preparing launch a major operation inside the eastern suburbs of Damascus in the coming days.
