Syrian Army unleashes huge bombardment on ISIS defenses in southern Deir Ezzor
On Saturday, footage emerged of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) smashing ISIS’ defensive line along the provincial border between Homs and Deir Ezzor.
Deploying GRAD rockets and mobile artillery vehicles to full effect, the SAA hammered suspected ISIS hideouts in the desert between Hamimah and the T2 Airbase:
Most of Deir Ezzor province has been under Islamic State control since 2014, leading to three years of heavy clashes for the provincial capital where a SAA garrison under the command of Major General Issam Zahreddine have set up strong defensive line despite being completely cutoff from the government mainland.
