Syrian Army Wins back One More Strategic Position from Terrorists South of Deir Ezzur
The army units engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL South of Deir Ezzur airbase and drove them out of Faraj strategic position.
The army’s artillery and missile units also targeted the concentration centers and movements of ISIL in al-Maqaber (cemetery) region and its surrounding in the Southern outskirts of Deir Ezzur city and al-Orfi neighborhood inside the city, destroying several positions of the terrorists and killing a large number of them, including a field commander nom de guerre Abdul Wahab Yasin.
Local sources in the town of al-Mouhassan in Eastern Deir Ezzur reported that civilians entered clashes with ISIL in the region, leaving a number of terrorists dead or wounded.
In relevant developments in the province on Saturdays, the army troops continued their military operation against the ISIL in regions South of Deir Ezzur city, driving terrorists out of a key height overlooking the city’s highly important airbase.
The army soldiers stormed ISIL’s positions at a key hilltop in the city’s cemetery, capturing the hilltop Southwest of the Deir Ezzur military airport.
Military sources, meantime, reported that pro-government forces will continue their operation to recapture the entire cemetery and its nearby regions in order to lift the several-year-long siege on Deir Ezzur military airbase.
