Syrian Army’s elite 4th Division begins battle against ISIS in southern Syria
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their large-scale offensive against the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in the Al-Safa region of southern Syria this morning.
Led by the elite 4th Division, the Syrian Arab Army kicked off a big assault this morning by storming the Islamic State’s positions from three different axes, including the Qasr Sheikh Hussein front.
The 4th Division reportedly scored a new advance at the Qasr Sheikh Hussein front after an intense battle with the Islamic State forces this morning.
According to a military source in Sweida city, the Syrian Arab Army managed to kill over ten Islamic State terrorists, while also destroying several trenches and dens in the Al-Safa region.
The Syrian Arab Army is now working to surround one of the highest peaks in the Al-Safa region before they make a major push to liberate this key hilltop in southern Syria.
