Syrian military conducts preemptive operations to thwart terrorist advance in Aleppo
The Syrian military has successfully intercepted and disrupted large-scale terrorist activities in Aleppo province with a proactive strike, according to reports.
According to a report by Al-Mayadeen on Friday, security forces successfully thwarted four significant terrorist plots that were poised to be launched from the town of Anadan, located 12 kilometers northwest of Aleppo.
According to recent reports, intense hostilities persist in the region as Syrian government forces engage in combat with terrorist factions, predominantly Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, previously identified as the Nusra Front.
Reports emerging on Friday indicate that intense clashes are taking place in western Aleppo. According to Syrian state media, artillery shelling has resulted in the deaths of four civilians in a student housing area in Aleppo.
According to the official news agency SANA, four civilians lost their lives following a shelling attack by terrorist organizations on university dormitories in Aleppo.
According to a recent report, the Syrian military has escalated its offensive with increased missile strikes targeting terrorist positions. These attacks span a strategic corridor from villages located in western Aleppo to Mount Zawiya in the southern region of Idlib.
Late Thursday, a television network disclosed that four major assaults originating from the city of Anadan, situated north of Aleppo, were successfully thwarted.
In southeastern Idlib, Syrian government forces have successfully stopped the forward movement of militants affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, following which they initiated a counteroffensive aimed at reclaiming lost territories.
On Thursday, the Syrian military launched a counteroffensive targeting militant-held areas in the southeastern region of Idlib. The operation successfully reclaimed control of Jobas village, compelling the militants to retreat from the villages of Dadikh and Kafr Battikh, located to the east of Idlib.
Oleg Ignasyuk, the deputy chief of Russia’s Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, reported the elimination of over 400 militants linked to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
He emphasized that the Syrian army is engaged in intense combat operations, bolstered by the backing of Russian air force support.
Russian and Syrian military aircraft carried out airstrikes on regions held by militants in northwest Syria, near the Turkish border, as part of efforts to repel terrorist forces.
The Syrian armed forces announced they have inflicted significant casualties on terrorist groups following a broad-front attack. The army further stated it is collaborating with Russian allies and other “friendly forces” to reclaim lost territory.
Since 2011, Syria has been ensnared in a conflict marked by foreign-supported militancy, with Damascus attributing the support of terrorist groups to Western nations and their regional partners.
Russia, in collaboration with Iran, has supported Syrian forces in various military engagements throughout the war-torn nation, primarily through the provision of air support to ground operations targeting groups identified as foreign-backed militants.
