Tens of thousands of Palestinians pray at Al-Aqsa
Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed today Friday prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem amid very tight police restrictions. Meanwhile, 250 Gazans, all of whom were above the age of 50, managed to travel to occupied Jerusalem after crossing the Israeli-controlled Erez crossing early in the morning to pray at Al-Aqsa, before immediately returning to the Gaza Strip.
Officials from the Palestinian liaison office pointed out that the number of Gazans permitted to pray at Al-Aqsa was reduced by half by Israel this week, as Israeli authorities usually permitted 300 elderly Palestinians from the besieged coastal enclave to travel to Al-Aqsa every Friday. During Friday sermon, Sheikh Mohamed Salim shed light on the Israeli escalated Judaization schemes targeting al-Aqsa Mosque.
