The Syrian military, supported by Russian air power and allied forces, has been engaged in a significant confrontation with terrorist groups following an assault on areas under its control in the Aleppo Countryside, beginning Wednesday.

The militant action follows closely on the heels of the ceasefire implementation in South Lebanon amid the Israeli incursion, spurred by the staunch resistance from Hezbollah fighters. This development raises pertinent questions regarding the role of Zionist forces in allegedly encouraging takfiri groups to reactivate operations in Syria, potentially aimed at weakening Syria’s backing of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon.

According to well-informed sources, the Syrian military has nearly repelled a militant offensive, successfully containing the terrorist activities and initiating a counterattack.

The recent offensive by takfiri groups in the western countryside of Aleppo constitutes a significant breach of the ceasefire agreement established during the Astana talks in 2020.

The Syrian Army reported that its military forces successfully thwarted a significant assault by terrorist groups in the rural areas of Aleppo and Idlib. According to the statement, the militants incurred substantial losses in the confrontation.
