The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has rejected the US calls for direct talks as unwise and futile for solving the country’s problems. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received a group of commanders of the Iranian Air Force and Air Defense for a meeting on Friday. The meeting took place to mark the anniversary of the historic meeting of the Shah’s air force commanders on Feb. 8 1979 with Imam Khomeini to pledge their allegiance to him and revolution. The meeting took place in the Imam Khomeini’s Hosseiniyeh in downtown Tehran. At the start of his address to the meeting, Leader of the Islamic revolution rejected talks with Washington as not in the interest of the Iranian nation. “Negotiations with the US will have no impact on solving the country’s problems. We must understand this in the right way. We should not think that if we sit at the negotiating table with that government, this or that problem will be solved. No, negotiations with America will not solve any problem,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. He said that experience has proved to Iran that talks with smart is not wise and not intelligent. “Iran negotiated with US several years ago, and a deal was reached, but Americans tore it up” he noted, adding that ” We made lots of concessions, but Americans failed to hold up their end of the bargain.” Ayatollah Khamenei went on to stress that the solution to the problems is inside the country, saying that with reliance on domestic resources, the problems could be solved. He continued to warn Washington, saying that “If the US violates security of Iranian nation, we will retaliate with no hesitation.” Speaking at the start of the meeting Iran Air Force commander Vahedi presented a report to the Leader, saying that “We have achieved 100% self-sufficiency, “fully ready” for defense.” MNA News ID 228001

Tehran’s Friday Prayers interim leader Hujjat al-Islam Kazem Sediqi has said that it was the United States that violated the 2015 Iran nuclear deal known as the JCPOA in 2018, rejecting more talks with Washington as futile.
“We experienced talks with the US,” Sediqi said in this week’s Friday Prayers sermon in Tehran, criticizing those inside the country who call for more talks with Washington as a way to resolve the problems.
“Those who suggested talks with the US were humiliated, but some still talk about the need for negotiations,” the cleric said.
Recalling the anniversary of the pledge of allegiance by the Shah’s Air Force commanders to the revolution and its Leader Imam Khomeini on February 8, 1979, Sediqi said that as the Air Force personnel stood by the side of the nation and the revolution at that time, the people are still supporting their Islamic Establishment vigorously.
He predicted that the people will come out to demonstrate their support for Islamic Establishment on 22nd of Bahman like all the 46 past years since the revolution’s victory.
