The Syrian Army Unearths a Large Tunnel in Jobar
The Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard (Al-Harss Al-Jamhouri) has unearthed another tunnel in the city of Jobar; however, this tunnel was 4 times the size of the previous one discovered last week. The tunnel was unearthed yesterday, after multiple airstrikes by the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) in Jobar that penetrated through the ground and exposed its presence underground.
According to a military source, the tunnel was measured just over 600 meters in length and it stretched across the Jobar District (not to be confused with the city). The tunnel was primarily used to resupply the entrenched fighters inside the city, while also possessing a living quarters for some of the militants from Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam). Discovered inside the tunnel were ventilation pipes and a large cache of weapons and ammunition that were later confiscated by the 105th Brigade.
Also inside the city of Jobar, the 105th Brigade and the National Defense Forces (NDF) carried out an attack on Liwaa ‘Ajnad Al-Sham positions, killing scores of militants before destroying their arms depot near the Al-Manasheer (Sawmill) Roundabout. Identified among the dead were 2 foreigners, “Issam Majd ‘Abdel-Hadi” from Lebanon and “Moussa IsHaq Al-Ra’ed” from Saudi Arabia.
