Thousands Rally across US to Protest Trump, Musk Policies

Demonstrators in all 50 US states gathered on Saturday to protest policies linked to President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, with over 1,200 rallies organized nationwide.

Thousands of people took to the streets in cities across the United States on Saturday as coordinated protests targeted Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Organizers said more than 1,200 demonstrations took place in all 50 states, including major gatherings in Washington D.C., New York City, and West Palm Beach, Florida.

The “Hands Off!” protests criticized the Trump administration’s approach to government downsizing, human rights, and economic policy.

In the nation’s capital, protesters assembled on the grass near the Washington Monument.

One demonstrator held a sign reading: “Make democracy great again.”

Another protester carried a placard saying: “Stop Putin’s puppets from destroying America,” referencing Trump’s stance on Russia and Ukraine.

Musk, who heads the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was also a central figure in the protests.

Many signs criticized Musk’s involvement in government cuts and restructuring.

Terry Klein, a retired biomedical scientist, said she traveled to the rally to oppose Trump’s policies.

“Everything from immigration to the DOGE stuff to the tariffs this week, to education,” she said.

“I mean, our whole country is under attack, all of our institutions, all the things that make America what it is.”

Protesters waved Ukrainian flags and Palestinian keffiyeh scarves, with signs reading “Free Palestine.”

Large crowds marched through midtown Manhattan and Boston, while hundreds gathered at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City.

In Columbus, Ohio, protesters braved the rain outside the Statehouse.

In Florida, Trump played golf before returning to his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Roughly four miles away, more than 400 demonstrators gathered near West Palm Beach.

Supporters honked their horns as they passed protesters holding signs, including one that read: “Markets tank, Trump golfs.”

The White House said Trump was expected to play golf again on Sunday.
