Tiger Forces redeployed to east Aleppo for upcoming offensive
The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” have redeployed from southern Aleppo and northern Hama to the Kuweires Military Airport in order participate in the upcoming offensive near the Islamic State stronghold of Al-Bab.
According to a military source at the Kuweires Military Airport, thousands of soldiers from the Tiger Forces poured into the east Aleppo countryside on Sunday and Monday, as they prepare for their largest military operation since November 2015.
Rumblings from Damascus indicate that the Desert Hawks Brigade and Syrian Marines were transferred to the northern Hama countryside, shortly after the departure of Tiger Forces to the east Aleppo.
Some small units from the Tiger Forces have remained in southern Aleppo; however, all major brigades are now in east Aleppo.
