Trapped Terrorist Detonated Himself at Iranian Parliament
“After the security forces tightened the noose on one of the assailants in the parliament’s administrative department, he detonated himself,” the director-general of the intelligence ministry for anti-terrorism operations said on Wednesday.
Four unknown male assailants fired several rounds at the guards protecting the parliament building in Tehran, killing five and wounding 25 others on Wednesday morning.
Also, several assailants raided the holy shrine of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, South of the capital Tehran on Wednesday morning, killing two and wounding ten people in a bomb attack and a shooting spree.
The latest reports by medical authorities at Tehran’s Sina hospital said that several of those injured in the parliament attack have been transferred to the hospital, adding that one of the wounded has succumbed to his injuries.
