US physician describes harrowing conditions in a Gaza hospital as increasing numbers of Palestinian patients fall victim to zionist airstrikes

The zionist military conducted an aerial strike on Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Yunis, resulting in the deaths of two patients and injuring multiple individuals, including healthcare personnel.

The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that an Israeli airstrike late Sunday targeted the surgical ward of a hospital, resulting in the deaths of a teenage boy and another patient receiving treatment.

Hamas has confirmed the identity of one of the casualties as Ismail Barhoum, a figure on the political bureau of the resistance organization.

In related developments, Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, a trauma surgeon hailing from California currently volunteering at Nasser Hospital, reported that the adolescent victim is under his medical care.

Sidhwa, a survivor of the Israeli assault, stated, “He was scheduled to be discharged tomorrow. Had I been attending to his dressings tonight as originally planned, I might have been killed as well. The targeting of hospitals constitutes a war crime and must be halted.”

In the hours leading up to the airstrike, Sidhwa and Mark Perlmutter, a volunteer orthopedic surgeon, provided testimony to CNN regarding the atrocities being inflicted by Israel on Palestinians in Gaza.

Perlmutter has asserted that the portrayal of events by Western media is entirely accountable for the fate of the 100,000 children in Gaza, who are confirmed deceased or remain unaccounted for, potentially trapped beneath the debris.

On October 7, 2023, Israel initiated a military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which, according to reports, resulted in the deaths of 50,021 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuries to over 113,274 individuals in the heavily blockaded region. Despite these figures, the operation did not reach its stated goals.

The occupying authority has agreed to Hamas’s previously established negotiation conditions as part of a three-phase truce in Gaza, which commenced on January 19.

After a period of two months, Israel independently terminated the ceasefire agreement and recommenced its intensive offensive on Gaza.

In an interview with Democracy Now! on March 18, Feroze Sidhwa recounted the severe injuries he had encountered, expressing deep sorrow over the continued violence affecting Palestinians and calling the ongoing bloodshed “heartbreaking.”

He highlighted that their extensive involvement in funding, diplomacy, economic aid, and military support is the reason behind the current circumstances, adding that such support is not obligatory.

In a strong critique of U.S. arms sales to Israel, a medical professional condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, describing the situation as a renewed wave of severe and unjustifiable mass fatalities. The doctor highlighted that the majority of victims are children, refugees, and individuals trapped in what was termed as a “concentration camp” from which they are unable to escape.
