Yemeni forces have launched yet another assault on a US aircraft carrier stationed in the Red Sea, for the fourth time in 72 hours

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that they conducted a preemptive strike on a United States aircraft carrier positioned off the coast of Yemen. This move comes amid ongoing U.S. support for Israel. The Yemeni military also confirmed an increase in their operations targeting Israeli interests.

In a statement released on Wednesday, spokesman Yahya Saree disclosed that a “joint operation” targeting the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea had been executed for the fourth time within a span of 72 hours.

According to a statement, the operation was launched following the observation of “hostile military activities in the Red Sea, indicating preparations for a major aerial assault on Yemen.” The official noted that additional warships were also targeted during the strike.

According to Saree, military forces launched multiple cruise missiles and drones targeting the vessels during the operation.

On Saturday, Trump declared the issuance of an executive order authorizing the deployment of “overwhelming lethal force” against a nation facing economic hardship. This action follows the country’s recent reinstatement of a ban prohibiting Israeli vessels from navigating critical maritime areas.

In a series of extensive airstrikes, U.S. military aircraft targeted areas within Yemen, reportedly resulting in significant civilian casualties. According to local sources, numerous non-combatants were among the victims of these attacks.

In October 2023, under the orders of Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah popular resistance movement, Yemeni forces executed strikes on key Israeli targets. This military action was reportedly a reaction to what has been described as a US-supported Israeli campaign against the Gaza Strip, characterized by comprehensive military attacks and stringent restrictions on the entry of critical humanitarian supplies such as food and medicine into the besieged territory.

Recent strikes, coupled with operations aimed at Israeli vessels carrying military equipment and commercial goods to the occupied Palestinian territories, have significantly impacted the regime’s economy.

The cessation of operations targeting Israeli and Israeli-affiliated vessels came following a ceasefire agreement between Israeli authorities and the Gaza-based resistance group, Hamas. However, hostilities recommenced when Tel Aviv repeatedly breached the terms of the accord.

Trump, in his announcement of an executive order, refrained from mentioning the Israeli government. Instead, he directed accusations towards Sana’a, alleging interference with “international navigation.”

Amid escalating tensions, Yemeni forces have launched attacks targeting Israeli vessels and those linked to the regime.

In response to allegations made by the US President, Yemeni officials have reiterated the objectives of Sana’a’s military operations, emphasizing that these activities do not pose a threat to other vessels.

In further comments, Saree emphasized that “American aggression will not prevent Yemen from carrying out its religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities to support the Palestinian people.”

He further verified that the Armed Forces have commenced an intensified series of military actions targeting the Zionist adversary, contingent upon the cessation of severe hostilities in Gaza and the lifting of the blockade.

Following the announcement from the forces, they reported the successful execution of an operation targeting Israel’s Nevatim Airbase. This base, they claim, has been used as a launch site for attacks on Gaza. The operation was carried out using a hypersonic ballistic missile referred to as “Palestine-2.”

In a statement made on Tuesday, Saree declared that the recent strike had successfully “achieved its objective.”
