Zionist forces fatally shot a Palestinian teenager following an alleged stabbing attack

Zionist forces have reportedly shot and killed a young Palestinian man in central Tel Aviv, an area within the Israeli-occupied territories, following claims of an attempted stabbing attack.

According to a statement from the Israel Police, a Palestinian man allegedly carried out a stabbing attack on Levontin Street on Saturday afternoon, resulting in serious injuries to the victim. The attacker was subsequently shot and killed by an armed settler present at the scene.

A settler in his 30s, who suffered injuries, was transported to Ichilov Hospital in a serious condition. According to a subsequent statement from the hospital, his condition has since stabilized and he is not in life-threatening danger.

The Israeli public broadcaster, Kan TV News, has identified the Palestinian individual as 19-year-old Salah Yahya, hailing from Tulkarm in the northern region of the West Bank.

According to an official police statement, authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A purported stabbing incident transpired mere hours ahead of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Hamas resistance movement in Gaza.

The Israeli government has consented to a ceasefire agreement, acceding to the long-standing negotiation terms proposed by Hamas.

The highly anticipated ceasefire agreement has commenced with an initial 42-day period, bringing a temporary halt to the hostilities in the over 15-month-long conflict between Israel and Gaza. This conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 47,000 Palestinians.

Under the terms of the agreement, 33 Israeli hostages currently held in the blockaded coastal region are set to be freed. In return, 735 Palestinian inmates and 1,167 detainees from Gaza will be released.

Mahmoud Basal, the Palestinian Civil Defense spokesperson, reported that Israeli airstrikes across Gaza have claimed the lives of at least 122 Palestinians, including 33 children and 33 women, and resulted in injuries to over 270 others, despite the announcement of a ceasefire.

On October 7, 2023, Israel, with support from the United States and its Western allies, launched military operations in Gaza in response to Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. This move came as Hamas sought to counter what they described as Israel’s long-standing policies against Palestinians.

On November 21 of the previous year, the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced the issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Minister of Military Affairs Yoav Gallant. The warrants were related to allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
