On Wednesday, the Israeli military persisted in its ongoing conflict with Lebanon for the 38th straight day, executing numerous airstrikes and artillery attacks across various parts of the nation. The offensive included a ground incursion into several southern villages, where Israeli forces encountered strong resistance from Hezbollah militants.
On Wednesday morning, Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes over southern Lebanon, targeting the town of Khiam and the strategic area along the Litani River. Additional strikes were reported in the towns of Al-Jabeen, Tayr Harfa, and Shama, marking a significant escalation in the region.
According to reports from the National News Agency, Israeli fighter jets launched an airstrike targeting the Jebour Heights area in the Western Bekaa region.
The Lebanese News Agency has reported that a recent airstrike targeting three buildings in the Haret Saida area on Tuesday evening resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, while 33 others sustained injuries. Additionally, the agency noted that an airstrike on a residence in the old town of Al-Sharqiya in Nabatieh claimed the life of one person and left several others wounded.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported a sharp increase in casualties due to the ongoing Israeli offensive, stating that as of October 8, the death toll has reached 2,787, with injuries totaling 12,772. In a recent update on Monday evening, the Ministry detailed that Israeli air raids over the past 24 hours have claimed the lives of five individuals and left 33 others wounded.
Since September 23, the Israeli military has intensified its operations across a wide swath of Lebanon, including the capital city, Beirut. These operations involve severe and frequent airstrikes, coupled with a ground offensive in the southern region, despite international cautions and United Nations resolutions.
In a continuous escalation, Hezbollah is reportedly engaging in daily retaliatory strikes against Israel, utilizing rockets, drones, and artillery to target military installations and settlements. Although Israel has disclosed certain human and material losses, observers note that military censorship is maintaining strict confidentiality over the majority of such casualties.
